LATEST INFORMATION:

PHASE I (Randall Road to Lakewood Road)

  • Asphalt paving begins week of May 5th. Temporary daily lane closures. Expect delays.
  • Final grading and landscaping
  • Final pavement marking installation

PHASE II (Lakewood Road to Route 47)

  • Temporary daily lane closures. Traffic reduced to one lane beginning week of May 5th. Expect long delays.
  • Temporary pavement installation
  • Storm sewer installation
  • Water main installation work

Project Information:

This project will reconstruct and widen Algonquin Road from IL Rte. 47 to Randall Road.

The roadway will be widened to include two travel lanes in each direction and new turns at the intersections.

The limits of the project are:
1150 ft. west of IL Rte. 47 to 800 ft. west of Randall Rd.

For a total length of: 4.80 miles

The current traffic on Algonquin Road is approximately 25,000 vehicles/day.

By 2020 it is expected that this number will be nearly 37,000 vehicles/day.

The scheduled completion date of Phase I is June of 2008.

The scheduled completion date of Phase II is June of 2009.
